Great composer, 2021

I made a piece of music with these five notes:

00:00 / 01:09

"I sat on a stool and spread jam on bread with a brush. In fact, not many people bothered me in the process. So I was shocked to be told that someone had complained about my behaviour.

The notes themselves are illusory; they float in the air, are heard, and then disappear. Putting music in nature is somewhat like casting pearls before swine.

They are brilliant only for the moment they are played, and finally calm. My work, eaten by worms, disappears as if it never existed. My work has changed over time...

All five notes are from Bach, and Bach's music is one of the most memorable nightmares of my piano lessons.

The notes in the sculpture are three chords, two, five and seven, which are relatively representative of Bach's works and remind me of fingery, rhythm and melody proficiency in piano learning, so they are extracted separately and made into sculptures. The visual melodies made up of these representative notes also match the melodies that appear in "Memories of Childhood" played in the video. It was an intense and profound experience for me, and I wanted to start with something intense, and also because disappearance can be seen as a metaphor for nothingness, I think this is a perfect piece to represent an end and a new beginning."
